Welcome to our website. One of the three sub-divisions in the district of Sundargarh, Bonai is famous for Lord Baneswar Temple. The river Brahmani flows northward backside of the Temple and making the place so beautiful to thousands of devotees from far and near. Full of forest, hills and mountains, rich in minerals and crowned with the scenic beauty of the Khandadhar water fall, the sub-division has a distinct age-old culture and tradition of its own which manifests itself in the local festivals observed here all the year around.
This ex-princely state had its merger with the state of Orissa along with other princely state in 1948. Until 1947 there was no High School in the entire sub-division and students in those days walked as far as Deogarh and Talcher for their school education.
Besides this now Bonai is a brand new city ever. At present Sponge Iron factories, different companies acts are attracting people to change their livelihood. In other words now Bonai not just a place of success but for perfection.
